I want to return to XP. Vista Home Premium came with this laptop. Unfortunately, Vista is the worst operating system ever. But whenever I try to install XP, I get a message that XP cannot detect any hard drive. But I am currently operating vista
Why does this happen? And how can I go back to XP?

I would suggest that you try to collect ALL the necessary drivers and burn them to CDR. You may find that some are not available at all. I recently was assisting another user in your position. They couldn't get the HD sound to work at all. SP3 fixed that issue. Wireless networking drivers might also present a challenge.

I suggest you keep Vista, repartition the HDD, then install XP on the 2nd partition.
