hey there! I have made a big mistake. Used Media Player to rip my cd's. Now all musicfiles are secured by microsoft with only allows me to share the files with three others!!! My question is how to convert from the secured wma to mp3?

You need Sonic Foundry "Sound Forge version 5" This is a high end pro sound editing application that supports dozens of formats including MP3 and WMA. Just a question of loading the WMA file and resaving as MP3 or whatever else you want.
There is a trial version available from their web site, www.sonicfoundry.com, or from www.download.com.
Im not sure if the trial version has save restrictions or not, but im sure there are many other freeware/shareware prgrams that will do the job too.
Hope this offers some help.
Regards
