System is Vision n Force Go, Athlon XP1800, 256mb,40gb nvidia graphics/sound, DVD/CD/R

My problem is freezing. Typical example is after an hour or Internet use screen will freeze, keyboard locks, cont/alt/delete doesn't work, only answer is to re-boot. No add ons to system other than a Logitech cam. Events viewer is clear so I am at a loss. Thought it may be the DVD/CD drivers but freezing still occurs with these programs disabled. Any suggestions greatly & kindly appreciated. James, Southend on Sea, UK

Is CTFMON.exe running in the background. This is causing numerous errors on my XP system including freezes, poor internet connections and phatom typing in email messages and input boxes. CTFMON.exe is known to interfere with DVD drivers and in my circumstance, it interferes with internet access. Search computing.net for more info on CTFMON.exe.

Disable ctfmon.exe by going to start-settings-control panel-add/remove programs-select ms office suite, select change, find ctfmon.exe and disable it. ctfmon is a program used for speech and hand recognition and some other stuff. this feature can not be disabled.
Next I would say update your video drivers and also double check to make sure you're CPU isn't overheating. Adding a case fan to your system may be all that is required. If nothing else solves your issue, athlon and via motherboard/video chipsets run into conflict on occasion, look into updating the video as i said earlier, then possibly updating your BIOS chipset. Search www.google.com for Via Technology and download the 4in1 update.

Good luck
