Hi, I keep having problems with my computer after it goes on standby or when the screen-saver appears after 10/15mins. The computer just freezes and becomes completely frozen. I can't even launch the task manager or even shut-down the computer, I literally have to turn it off via' the base or pull the plug in some circumstances! I know this could damage my hard-drive, so I really need to get this problem sorted and I'm clueless. :( Tried everything. De-bugging, downloading service packs, but the problem still persists. Any advice or help would be fantastic, it really would! Thank you, ~Danny

desktops were not meant for using the standby options from what I know. Laptops were used for that to save battery power. You should do a bunch of malware checks and clean up your PC. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Ok I've tried doing quite a few of these scans from different softwares, the first time I scanned it said I had "1 infected", got rid of that, every scan afterwards didn't detect anything. Full scans and quick scans were performed. But... The problem still persists. :( Is there any other advice for this problem? Thanks, ~Danny
