I need help!!, When I turn on my Pc send me this advice: " PRIMARY IDE CHANNEL no 80 conductor cable installed" and It goes normally and load windows xp but some minutes later, it freeze and nothing response (mouse, keyboard) and I don`t know what to do. Maybe the advicing I get at start has something to do with this freezing thing.

I am having exactly the same thing today too! On thursday I decomisioned my Novell server and put xp home on it. It worked fine that night. Today I turn the computer on and get the same message that you recieved. SO this is not an isolated case. I have tried numerous times to reinstall and everytime it fails (with machine locking up) went so far to replace the video card with a newer one thinking that was the problem when getting probed. If you hear anything let me know as I will start calling around in the morning and let you know too! This gives me a new direction to go. Thanks.

Do you have an 80 conductor IDE cable, or does your system require one. Perhaps your cable is loose, or damaged.
