Specs: Windows XP, 2Gb
I need to free up some space on my computer.
Short of the normal CCCleaner, defrag, etc. I remember readong something about MS installer files, MS updates, etc.
Any ideas what else can be deleted - I can't find this on google though I know I deleted some of these last time I went through this process.

try turning off system restore, then start it up again and set it to use only 3% of your HD. That will help a bit.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

That's for a faster PC, which I'll also do but this is specifically for space. DO you know where MS store their update files?

jackvull, there's something you might try. Since you already have CCleaner, you can disregard the download and concentrate on settings.
A common ailment is a file called 'index.dat'. It gets read every time and can take quite a while if it’s too bloated. It's like a log file and keeps a record of every site you visit on the web. Empty, it's 32K, but it can grow HUGE. It's a protected file and can't be deleted by normal methods. CCleaner (free @: http://www.ccleaner.com/) can get rid of it when it’s ticked (not to worry, it gets rebuilt EMPTY on the next boot.).
