Hi! The matter is that from time to time my PC doesn´t boot because C:\windows\system32\system doesn´t exist or is damaged. I know this is a corrupted registry issue, and I know how to recover the computer, but the thing is... Why does this happen so often? I have done a checkdisk but my hard drive seems to be right. Any ideas? Note: Even after a clean install it happened after a week or so.

Start looking for virus intrusions; perhaps also spy/mal-ware etc?

Perhaps do an on-line scan at AVG (Grisoft.com) and also perhaps at Trendmicro.com and Pandasoft?

Download/install Spybot/AdAware and SpywareBlaster. Update the references files for each and then run/scan your system fully with each util. Ensure also you have decent firewall installed (Zonealarm being the usual recommended freebie).

I used to get a something.dll is not installed error, or a ntoskrnl needs to be replaced error, due to a faulty IDE cable and power supply cable.

Took a long time to troubleshoot that, tho'.

Maybe yours suffers the same?

Thanx everyone, I've also read that it could be a problem with the motherboard and the power management feature...
