My friend has tried and tried to get rid of a hijack and cant on his athalon 1.39 gig HP. Tried everything hijack, cwshredder, adaware. Now its totally messed up, and no longer has a restore date. Plus lots of other errors. I figure formatting and reinstalling is the only way to do it. Does a restore disk format and reinstall or just repair. Plus do you think that will be the end of the hijacker if we install adaaware and zonealarm before reconnecting to the cable?

depends on the system they're using ... there is 'destructive and non-destructive recovery' ... destructive would be the way of your choice, everything will be overwritten.

za firewall, spyware blaster, spyware eliminators and ant-virus software is mandatory, although nothing is guaranteed but using another browser makes a big difference :-)

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'
