I want to format my c: drive. I have done it before using my Windows XP disk. But this time when I try to delete my partition it says in set up that it can't delete the partition because there are temporary files on there which are needed for installation.Any Ideas

easy way is 2 insert XP Home disk & reboot, select BOOT FROM CD, Then select NEW INSTALLATION, this should give u the option 2 4mat. Should work with no probs. email me if it works ok (it should) good luck Jim

You could just format thru dos, but most people don't know how to get to dos in WinXP, here's how tho...
You can do it, but only with a MS-DOS startup disk.
To get there, just insert a floppy disk, right click on the floppy drive and click format...
On the format menu, check the box marked "create an ms-dos startup disk" and then click format.
Then reboot the computer using the disk and you should be in dos :-)
hope that helps everyone!
