Formatting after XP install

Could someone xplain (clever eh?!) the process of formatting a HD after installing XP on it cos i chose the wrong install option, i really want a clean install.

How do i creat a boot disk to recognise CD ROM and what files need to be on the disk?

Anyones help would be grately appreciate!

u can get the booting disks from microsoft...they have them now on their site. go and xplore ( ;)) their site. but winxp cd is bootable just change the booting option if u have to from ur bios.

Boot your computer with the XP CD, make sure CDROM is in your BIOS boot sequence, then you can format your hard drive from there.

Fingers crossed ill be up and running in and hour or so!!
Just one last thing....if im formatting shall i go for NTFS or FAT32?

it depends on what u want...I have NTFS for xp and fat32 for 98se. Using NTFS lets u use the security option plus there are other reasons why u should use either one...I suggest u read about it.

i am trying to get rid of xp and go to win98se since i get too many hardware conflicts on this comp.. i tried using a startup disk and to no luck it wouldnt let me format saying that there is no format command.... please help.. thx
