I have a machine running XP and have been asked to wipe it and install Win 98 2nd (to play the old dos games, etc).
Am I right to say that to format it (wipe out XP), I need to boot it from the Win98 floopy, use FDisk to delete the non-dos partition then format the hardisk?
Do I need to mess about with the XP CD at all? The owner can't stand it XP and wants Win98 like he had on his old machine...

absolutely, come to think of it, that's what i did this morning! as long as you back up any essential data, all you have to do is delete the partition and boot up the pc with the win98 cd in it, win98 should prompt you to format the drive and then do it for you
