Comment:

I have a Pure Evoke-3 DAB radio and bought a 4gb SanDisk SD card for it. When I'd got a load of stuff on the card I downloaded it and formatted it on my laptop. It formatted it as FAT32. Now the radio gives me a message saying 'card not inserted' when I try to record. The tech support people at Pure say that's because the card has to be formatted as FAT16. There is no option on my laptop to format as FAT16, the drop down box only says FAT32. Is there any way to format it as FAT16? Thanks.

from the manual:

Some notes on using pre-formatted SD cards.

Make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT16 file system as opposed to FAT32. SD cards formatted to FAT32 file system will not be able to be read or written to by the EVOKE-3.

Using the EVOKE-3 to format the SD card will format it to FAT16."

download the user's manual (PDF):

looks like you can use the device to format your SD card in FAT16.

No, it can't, I tried that straight away. It looks like the card has had it. Thank you so much for trying.
