Formac external hard drive issues

Hi, due to a nasty virus issue I had to clean format my c drive. No problems encountered other than my Formac Hard Drive doesn't seem to be recognised in Computer Management/Disk Management. How can I reinstall it without losing any of the data on it? Kind regards Neil

I too tried to 'interpret' "Formac Hard drive" getting nowhere in that process:-)
If it was a typo and we should read "Formatted Hard drive" instead of "Formac Hard drive", it still does not make sense, as one would not expect to find data in a formatted hard drive as implied in the next sentence:-"How can I reinstall it without losing any of the data on it?"!
Unless Neil clarifies the message, it will remain a mystery for the ordinary readers:-) M

He's writing in common Computing.net style. He formatted c: but has an external drive not being seen in disk manager.
Is the drive seen in Device Manager? If not you need to load a driver. If seen in device manager what does Fdisk say? Partitions there?
You may need a driver loaded to access the drive. Is the external drive ntfs? Otherwise maybe the virus effected more than just the main drive.
