When I turn my computer on the first screen that comes up is a blue screen saying windows xp. It has a picture for all users and when I click on my name it gives me a white space to type in my password. Well, I completely forgot my password and since I set up user accounts with me being the administrator, I can not get into any of my programs. I can get in my husbands account because I know his password, but I set him up as a limited user, therefore I can not get into any of my programs through his account. Please help! Thanks, melanie

Ok one more thing...everywhere seems to talk about logging on in safe mode and resetting your password there. So give that a try, and either way, post back with the results.

You must have set up a password for the Administrator account when you installed XP. If you can remember that, press Ctrl+Alt+Del twice when you get to blue logon screen. This will give you a 'traditional' windows login box where you can put name & password (ie, Administrator and whatever password you set up).

If you’re running Windows XP Professional as a local user in a workgroup environment, you can create a password reset disk to log onto your computer when you forget your password. To create the disk:
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User Accounts. Click your account name. Under Related Tasks, click Prevent a forgotten password.
Follow the directions in the Forgotten Password Wizard to create a password reset disk.
Store the disk in a secure location, because anyone using it can access your local user account
