Personally I find it hard to believe that some one forgets the password on a laptop. While I am sure there is more than enough reasonable explanations as to why this can happen. I just can't see it happening. Anyway...we can't help you on that issue.
You will have to google for the next option.

I agree. There is a program that I sometimes post a link to that will allow recovery of the password, but in this case I don't believe the story.

Your son enters his password every time he boots his laptop. How could he suddenly forget the password? This story sounds fishy, so it would be irresponsible for us to help you circumvent the secure login process.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

When u are ready to enter the password press ctrl + alt + delete twice and then a new windows pops up with username and password! remove the old username and write administrator ! when u log onto ur system click on start - control panel - user accounts and there u can find ur username and change ur password to nothing!

Cheers

Thanks, and I do uderstand everyone being leary to telling someone how to get by a secure log in. My son did forget he changed his password to keep a freind at college from accessing his lap top. then his pwr cord went out and he could not afford a new one. by the time he brought it home he just forgot the new password. (as he had only used it once)

But I found a way around the pass word that I will keep to myself for the same reasons you did not want to help...

Download http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.p... and burn it to CD. Make sure your CD is the first to run in start up. After everything loads from the CD, enter winpass at the command prompt. If a message comes up saying Do you want to disable System Keys, enter N. Then a list of all the users will come up and key in each option
