I have an ongoing issue with Outlook Express 6 and not being able to change the SIZE of the font. I have WinXP, P4, and IE6.
I can now change the actual font itself in a new message, but not the size - regardless of how I try. I have tried this way - Format>Font settings>Size - nothing - it will not change size. I really miss being able to change font sizes in my messages like I did in previous version s of OE but have not been able to figure out a fix after many months. Any new ideas for an old problem?
Thanks for any help!

What format are you using?? Plain Text you won't get format settinfs. Change to Rich Text under format, then you can change the font

TJ, all of the above have been done. Rich text allowed me to change fonts, but not the size in any way, whether it be by highlighting and changing it in the message. And nothing happens either when I change the size in tools->option->compose.
I'm sure I was able to change font size when I first got WINXP/OE6 - I know that I could with OE4 & 5. Thanks for the responses, I really appreciate them, but if you have any other ideas it'd be great.

Hi
To put things back to normal, launch Internet Options from Control Panel and click the Accessibility . . . button on the General tab. Uncheck the three check boxes labeled Ignore colors specified on Web pages, Ignore font styles specified on Web pages, and Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages. Click ok, click ok again, and then restart Outlook Express. You should now be able to access all formatting features for rich text messages.Hope this works for you

All but the font sizes in accessibility had been unchecked Bob, so I did just that and I still can't change sizes.
I know it SHOULD work because there is the drop-down size box next to the font box, but nothing changes no matter what I do with it. I try to change in the format box (first highlighting the text), then changing it to say 24 pt., but it always defaults back to Arial 12 pt.
Thanks Bob - any other suggestions?

Okay, I followed the instructions on the MS link to a "T" and it DOES enable the font changes. (Hooray!) However, that creates a problem with the way web pages are displayed, in that most of the type is about 6 pt. and very hard to read. So then I change the View>Text Size to Medium and a lot of the type becomes HUGE while the headers, etc, remain tiny.
As the song goes, one thing leads to another.".....................
