Use computer management under administrative tools or buy Partition Magic and split off a small portion of the C: drive and format it using FAT32.

Simple. Get a Win98 bootdisk that has fdisk on it. Run fdisk. Tell it to delete non-dos partitions. If you have a couple partitions on there, you may need to go through the menu system a couple times and delete them all. Once they are all deleted, check to make sure by hitting option 4 to view the partitons. It should say there are no partitions. Then create one main partition, reboot, and format. You will also want to run "fdisk /mbr" to reset the boot record for Windows 98. You ARE trying to install 98, right?

assuming you want to go back to fat32. this is all you do....boot with xp cd...when you get to the format screen you will have the option to format to fat32 or ntfs....format in fat32 the long way...not the quick format....when its done stop the rest of the install by reseting you computer....you will have a fat32 hard drive again....it works...i have done it a few times with no problem.
