When i try and open Maya on my PC, it says there is an error writing to a file, and i checked where the file was, and noticed the folder was read only, so I unchecked read only, and tried Maya again, and it came up with the same error, so i checked the folder and it had been re-checked as read only. Going up throught the folder structure, I've noticed the entire 'Documents and Settings' folder on the C: drive has been checked as read only, and if I uncheck it, it just gets re-checked again straight away, yet other programs haven't brough up any errors; I can still save microsoft word documents etc. in My Documents. If anyone can shed any light on what is happening here, I woudl be very grateful, Thanks

If the "Maya" is Autodesk Maya, have you tried their Support Site?

All folders are read only, in everyone's computer. That just means the folder is read only not the stuff in it.
