Folder window clutter + crap

Dammit, I want a clutter-free folder window when I'm browsing my files! I notice in XP that it always has this annoyingly large section of the left part of the window reserved for these little task menus called "files and folder tasks", "other places", and "details". It only seems to disappear when I resize my window to a very small size, which then shows only icons, but defeats the whole purpose of user the window to veiw my files. I really don't mind it that much when the window is maximized, but it is annoying as hell when I shrink the window so I can drag-and-drop files from another (cramped) window or from the desktop. Any way I can turn off these unneccesary conviniences? I just want the window to display the icons and the status bar, sort of like windows 98 or 95. Thanks in advance. X
In any Explorer window, click Tools > Folder Options... On the General tab under the Tasks frame, click "Use Windows classic folders". Click OK. That should do it.
