folder will not delete

Its a dell laptop and a folder was created on the desktop. It had some .doc's in it. The docs are gone. I tried to delete it and it says there is a system folder in it and canot delete. I showed hidden folders and there was desktop.ini inside the folder. I dragged it out and now the folder says 0 bytes. I rebooted and it still will not let me delete it. I moved it to the root and tried to rename it. It wont let me. Any ideas???

Login with Admin privileges and delete the folder.

Right-Clicked on the file icon and in menu selected "Open with....". Selected Notepad as program to use. The PC returned the following error......."This file does not exist......would you like to create a new one?". Click on "Yes" and it gives a blank Notepad screen, where you scribbled some text and then try to save the data......which is going to do it and now you have a working file with data in it which you delete.

f8 safe mode, make sure your the owner of the folder if not take ownership through permissions then delete. There's also a way to remove the system attribute from the folder but I forget maybe some else can help?
