Hi,
I have windows XP professional and I have 3 questions:
1. When I open a folder to view its contents, on the left side pane, I want the folders tree to appear. So I played around and got it to appear using view->Explorer Bar->Folders. However, each time I close the folder and then come back again, it reverts to the windows default again. Is there a way to fix it so that it shows for all folders in the computer all the time?2. Can I change the folder image on the desktop? I don't want to change the icon, but I want to add a picture to the folder. I can do this in all screens under my computer, but not on the desktop. Is it possible to do it on the desktop too?
3. Is it possible to have a folder on the desktop, and when you click on it you get all the files folders under it branch out like a menu without opening in a new window? (I mean I get the file list on the desktop itself when the folder is clicked)
Sorry to ask so much, but I appreciate all the help you can give me.Thanks.

For # 1 try:
In Windows Explorer or Control Panel,
click Tools in the Menu bar,
click Folder Options,
click View tab,
in Advanced Settings list, find and check mark "Remember each folder's view settings".

In addition to the above, click the "apply to all folders" button.
You cannot show thumbnail views on the desktop. Perhaps it's possible with some visual styling program like windowblinds but not with windows alone.
As far as question 3 goes, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If you mean you want to have all the files/folders within a desktop folder appear on the desktop when you click on it, that isn't possible. (again, perhaps with a styling program but not with windows alone.)

Desktop Folder Auto-Expand for all subFolders...
"Actually" on the desktop, I'm not sure, But:
I use the TaskBar (since it is so easy to create there and Use):e.g., I have a C:\DOWNLOADS folder (As shown, On My C:\ Drive)...
To create a "TaskBar" Folder:
R-click in taskbar, slide up to "Folders" then down and L-click "New Folder", which brings up My Computer, etc.
Expand C: L-click on "Downloads" folder, then L-Click OK.
This places DOWNLOADS in the taskbar (Like 'Quick Launch'), with a >> to expand
upward.
hope this helps.
