folder takes a long time to load

hi guys
i'm facing this problem where my folder which contains quite a huge amount of video and pictures taking a long time to load and while it is loading my com freezes is there anyway or tweak to solve this problem?

kogan31, you've answered your own question. "quite a huge amount of video and pictures". Takes a while to load a lot of data. 'Doctor, every time I raise my arm, it hurts' 'Stop raising your arm!' HTH. Ed in Texas.

Are you using an Antivirus with real-time protection enabled? I disabled mine because of the performance hit it had on my system. (I'm not recommending you this unless you're aware of the risks, manual system scans have kept my computer virus free).

Since you are talking about large file sizes, probably your HDD is fragmented, if so file access can slow down considerably. Why dont you remove unwanted stuff, defrag in a safe mode? If you never do it, start doing it regularly.
