folder pictures

I managed to get the pictures that I wanted showing on folders in \My Pictures\, however, they are no longer there. How can they be 'stabilised' (made permanent) ?

The My Pictures folder in My Documents, can hold folders of photos. When these folders are displayed as TILES, by default they show 4 images selected from the contents of the folder. But that CAN be changed so that it shows an image that one may select. I have successfully done that. But now those selected images no longer display (nor does a default selection as before) Why have they disappeared - how can that be prevented ?

Basty, Instead of having the view set as Tiles for those folders change it to Thumbnails.

Sebastian, if you want to see just one picture in a thumbnail picture folder instedt of 4 pics do following: Right click your thumbnail Properties Customize Choose picture Open Apply OK Done

Xpuser It DID work. I wrote that in my post. But those pictures are no longer showing on the folder icon (TILE). Something (?) has removed them; whereas I want them to stay there permanently.

Basty, They won't show up if you have your View set as Tiles. Change the View to Thumbnails.

My apologies - I had looked on the wrong folder icons. The pictures which I had selected, are STILL on the folders where I put them. Phantom problem.
