I know about and use folder pictures all the time.

Tonight, a strange behavior has started. BEFORE, when I'd make new directories (for music, mostly) Folder would show pics in directory, if any, or be blank. Some folders have some kind of inherent picture, which I never quite understood, but when I rip a CD, a picture will often be a part of the folder.

Now, folders that ALREADY have pictures will sometimes pick up a DIFFERENT picture, as in a cover from a DIFFERENT album. If I go to the offending folder, and do PROPERTIES / CUSTOMIZE / RESTORE DEFAULT, the "ghost" pictures will go away, and the "real" picture will be visible.

If the folder is a "regular" one, when I restore default, I get the 4-pic view on the folder. I can then select the file, and it's normal. I've had to re-do most of them, and that's a big job.

What's going on? Any ideas? Further questions? Thanks!

Warren, First go into Folder Options>View tab and select "Show hidden files and folders", click Apply/OK. Now go into those folders and locate any thumbs.db files and right click them and choose "Delete".
