I have two computers, both running XP Pro and part of the same workgroup.
One one computer I need to share all of the C:\ and D:\ drives (both are partitions). I need full access to both of these partitions, including Windows and Program Files folders.
How do I set this up, currently - I have shared C: and D: and got them mapped to my comp as M: and N: - I then changed Security --> Permissions - giving Full control to "Everyone" but when I open the mapped drive I am asked for a username and password. Only usernames and passwords for the other computer work.

you need the same account name and password on all pcs you want to access. Logon under that account to access the remote share.

Just wondering what you hope to accomplish by sharing the Windows and Program Files folders?

It is only a small two computer home network, will make admin and tidying up computers a lot easier for me. It isn't as if it is posing a massive security risk as there are only two machines.
Is there anyway of not havin same usernames and passwords? i would of thought the point of full control for "Everyone" was for this.

Did you set both File Permissions and Share Permissions to Everyone Full Control? If not, you need to set both.
