So you go to TOOLS and at the bottom you have Folder Options. In here you have three tabs general/view/file types

which part does not exist?

shadowinthewater, Go to either link below and follow the instructions.

Registry Editing Has Been Disabled By Your Administrator
Step by Step Methods for Fixing Registry Editor

http://www.pchell.com/support/regis...

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/tweakuire...

After that's fixed go to the link below and scroll down to line 129 (left column) and click on or right click and use Save Target As "Restore Folder Options Under Tools". Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_...

The above fix should put Folder Options back under Tools and in the Control Panel

Do you now have Folder Options under the Tools menu?
Give a restart a try. Is your regedit fixed?

"ya it opens up what should i do now?"

What opens up now and what are you trying to do?

Please answer these questions.

Did you download the reg file fix from the Kellys site and run it?

Do you now have Folder Options under the Tools menu and in the Control Panel?

Is your regedit fixed?

Did you restart your computer?

Can you use the Folder Options under the Tools menu in any Windows Explorer window?

Did you use a registry cleaning type program recently?
