for a while now, i have noticed that when browsing directories my Tools > Folder Options menu no longer exists.. i know it used to (as it does on my other computer) however on this comp its just not there..
WTF?! was my first reaction when i noticed this, and just ignored it, however now i have to change some settings witch requires me to use the folder options screen.. is there perhaps a registry entry that hides this menu? The worst of all is there is no 'folder options' in the control pannel!
please please help me, everyone i spoke to dosnt know what to make of this, im hoping you people are a bit wiser ;)thx!

Try putting in your xp cd and repairing your OS
SHould reinstall anything that you may have deletedpeace

Hi Squ
A setting in your registry may have been changed.
RUN REGEDIT and go to...HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
On thr right hand page, look for an entry that says "NoFolderOptions"
If you have it there, and it is set to number 1, then modify it to say number 0
If you don't have the entry at all, then create a new DWORD value and name it NoFolderOptions and set it to number 0
Good luck

Squ,
Try this...right click on your windows explorer "icon" bar (view>toolbars>standard buttons must be checked). Click on "customize". In the window on the left, find the icon for folder options (a folder with a red check mark on it)and add it to the window on the right. Now it's on your toolbar and you don't need view>folder options anymore.
