Everytime I boot there is this folder that opens up. I have tried checking the start up folder to no avail. Even editting the registry doesn't work. Please advice.

Be more explicit about the folder and did you look in msconfig for startup items?

Is it when you are booting XP? If so check msconfig startup, or download the latest version of CounterSpy and scan for spyware if this is a sudden occurence without having just installed a new program etc.

There's an option under Tools | Folder Options in Explorer to Restore Explorer windows when Windows starts. Check and make sure thats not set.
