Folder Keeps Returning

Have a very strange problem.
I created a folder a while back that was uses regularly. But I've deleted the folder a few months ago.
But I've noticed that the folder "comes back" on the desk top after a few days --
The folder has Zero bytes ( empty)
This has happened about five times.
When I do a search with the name of the folder, nothing shows up.
