Lately, for no reason I can discern, the order of items in folders in Windows Explorer seems to change randomly every time I open it. I have the box checked that say “Re-member each folder’s view settings” in the View tab under Folder Options. But they’re not remembered. Next time, they’re random. This is particularly noticeable if I’m, say, attaching an item to an email. I go to Attach, open the folder, and the items in it are in any old order. This is a recent phenomenon. It doesn’t matter if it’s a ‘senior’ folder with many sub-folders, or one of the sub-folders.

Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think I've solved it. If not, I'll post again. Sorry to bother you. Thanks.
