I have a word document saved on a floppy that now Windows is saying is not formatted. I don't know why or when this occured. I need this document. Is there any way of recovering it without reformatting? I have tried to explore the disk and even simply open it in word. I get the same results every times. Thanks!

floppys should only be used as a back up copy, i learned this the hard way, you should always keep the origional on your HDD.

poss solution:
try and access the floppy on another computer

As has been said in many other posts

"Google is your friend"

There are lots of programmes out there which will try to read damaged floppies and other media.

Google for "Recover Damaged Floppy" or something similar.
