Floppy Drive Says Must Format Disk?

Hello,

Every time I put a new or used floppy disket in my floppy drive it says some error like I must format this disk? It always does this and won't let me save anything any ideas? Thanks, Kyle

Yes, it says a imation 2hd IBM formatted 1.44MB disk. What does that have to do with it?

Disks formatted for one operating system may not work in a computer using a different operating system. In particular, DOS and Windows can’t read a disk formatted for an Apple or Macintosh computer. have you tried cleaning your floopy drive or just replace it

Kyle,
Your floppy drive sounds like it has kicked the bucket. It is out of alignment. Format a disk in it and then try and read that disk in another PC. If the other PC cannot read the disk then your Floppy drive is for the scrap heap. They are cheap enough...:o)
