floppy diskette seek failure

Specs: Windows XP

wen i turn on my dell dimension 3100c
it givs me a floppy diskette seek failure. can hit f1 2start and everytin wurks fine. If der is any1 who cud help me wit dis id b most gratefull as i know allmost notin about computers.

You are not texting here please use complete words with proper grammar.

Are you trying to boot to a floppy disk? If so, is it bootable? Do you have the floppy drive set as the first device in the boot order in the BIOS?

Sorry i am just so used to texting...no i wasnt trying to boot a floppy,there is just a cd drive on it

I realy dont have a clue about computers. I gotm a virus and had run a clean up program.after that every time i turn on that comes up and have to hit f1 to start

That is more the sign of a dead cmos battery.

This would also mean that you would be at hardware bootup defaults which would have the floppy drive first. No drive or no bootable disk in the drive would generate an informational error.

I would suggest you take your computer to a shop and have them review/diagnose your computer issues.
