Hi

I work at an internet cafe and as of late i have noticed that if someone brings in a floppy disk they cannot read it on any of the computers, it says that it needs to be formatted. When thats not the case, the floppys are perfectly fine.

If i save something to a floppy from the internet cafe, and try viewing it at home for example i get the same message.

I am assuming there is something to do with a formatting problem in the cafe. But i dont know what settings to change.

Please help
Thanks
F2

Its a common problem with floppy disks. Disks formatted on one drive cannot be read on another because the heads a slightly misaligned.

So... your suggesting that every computers floppy drive in the net cafe are misaligned because i have ruled out everything on that link you posted.
There is a total of 20 pc's here and they all have the same problem.

Which is why i thought that it might be some kind of setting that needs to be changed, somewhere.

I just find this extreamly odd.

I know that XP has a known issue with floppies from previous kernels.
But i have tested XP to XP and i get the same problem.
