Comment:

After a recent SP2 install, I have lost floppy functionality. Hardware Manager says all is OK but I cannot read any floppy. I get a message that "The drive in disc A is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" If I say yes, the format operation fails: "Windows was unable to complete the format." The drive lite comes on with each attempted operation. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both floppy controller and drive drivers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also run sfc /scannow from the run menu. You will need the xp cd.
