I got a DEll latitude c600. just awhile ago my laptop screen started to flicker and had a bunch of lines going across the screen. Kinda looks like static like seen on tv sometimes. THen it goes away forawhile and then comes back.
It only shows up when im in windows. Like when im restartin the computer or just turning it on, the screen is fine. maybe software issue?
any ideas will greatly help
thanks

I just started having this same kind of problem. Also, when I try to play a video, my cpu locks-up and goes into the safe mode until I reboot it. Everything runs fine until the cpu goes into the sleep mode. Then if I want to play a video again, it will lock-up and I'll have to re-boot. I get the lines and flicker during the re-boot also. I started getting a video driver problem message on my screen. So I went to the vendor. They said I needed to go to Microsoft. Well, I called the company that made my CPU(HP), and got the tech support people. After about 30 minutes of making adjustments the final info I got from them was that SP2 was originally made for XP Professional and not Home Users. Nice to find that out after it auto installed on my CPU. The tech rep had me boost the video memory and deselect my start-up menu. It fixed the problem but I didn't care for not having some of my programs not starting, like my antivirus etc. I went back to my original settings and will be contacting my CPU maker's tech rep boys for plan B. Hope this points you in the right direction. Good luck.
