Flash player won't work

I have about 10 computers on which flash will not work correctly. Once upon a time flash worked on all of them, but now when going to a flash site (even macromedia.com) all flash objects have a little red X on them. I have tried going to the downloadable flash player site, which also shows up with the x's and will not reinstall. I have downloaded both the flash uninstaller and installer from macromedia and each one gives me an error.
Uninstaller: Could not loaddll library user32.dll module could not be found.
Installer: INF install error install failure.
Each computer is running windows XP with the latest updates (b4 sp2). All of them have had flash working on them at one point or another. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem a few months ago. I did a windows update and updated the flash version.It works fine now. Hope it will help you. Marilyn

I would update the flash version, but how? it gives me an error with the downloaded install, and the web based download never starts. The computer is up to date with the latest windows updates.
