Despite numerous attempts, I am unable to get Flash working. I think I have loaded Flash Active X 7.0 but when I go to espn.com for example it tells me I am still not up to speed and need to download flash. Now I can see that this is a problem from numerous similar posts but I have attempted to do all of the things suggested but to no avail. Barbie and Disney still don't work either. I have the new SP 2, but I think I was having difficulty even before that. Any suggestions? thanks very much. dan

I suggest you completely uninstall flash from your comp and reload. It cannot be uninstalled completely by simply deleting its' files or using add/delete options. Follow these steps:
Click Start.Search and type in "flash.ocx" and write down the exact path for the file(s) found.
Now click Start>Run and type Regsrv32<space><exact pathname found><space>/u and hit enter
<space> meaning hit the space bar and <pathname> meaning the exact pathname found when you did the search. It Should look something like this: Regsrv32 C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash /u
This should get a dialog saying that Regsrv32 was successful. If not, make sure you typed the path correctly.
Now do a search for flash.ocx again and delete all files found.
Now do a search for swflash.inf and again delete all files found
Restart the computer and try to install Flash again. It should work.

Is that Macromedia Flash player ?

If I remember, browsers and programs have to be closed before install. Then after install, the installation needs to be completed online.

I did a search for flash.ocx and I got 4 different flash.ocx files. Is there a specific one I am looking for? I tried the one out of the system32 file but for some reason I couldn't run it. There is a 2nd one with system32 in the path but it is preceded by LastGood whatever that means. Thanks again

Should have added when I try and run that original path it says it can't find Regsrv32 I have double checked my path and everything seems as you have suggested.
