This is a new post to all users having flash problems related with tn_19166 since the original was closed.

I had the same problem for months now. I tried everything from reinstalling IE to downloading standalone versions of the flashplayer, and always ended with the same message. After a while I put IE aside and kept working with Firefox that didn't suffer from the same illness, but since I'm a web developer I needed to test my webapps which I started to do on my laptop.

Yesterday I have cracked the problem without knowing. I have installed Adobe Flex 3 and it should show a flash page in the beginning. It didn't appear so I thought the installation of Flex was in vain. When it opened IE there was the yellow bar to allow the installation of the flashplayer. When I saw that I was already thinking to myself I would have to install Flex on the laptop but I still clicked the install button.
After the install (which ended without any warning) the Flex start page appeared like magic as well as some of my sites built with Flash content.

There you have it. Please try this and tell me if it worked for you as it worked for me. Hope this helps anyone out there that is as desperate as I was.
