flash drive causes mouse to freeze

I just got a cruzer mini 256 flash drive and whenever i plug it into my computer my logitech usb wireless mouse stops working. my keyboard which isnt usb also stops working. and i have to reboot to get them to work again. anyone have any idea what would cause this? thanks
