Can I burn my flash.exe and bios#.bin file to a CDR, and boot into DOS with boot cd, and run the flash using the data off the CDR? I've done it lots of times before with a floppy, but I no longer have one, and wanted to make sure it would work - I've heard something about memory managers interfering with BIOS flashes..Can someone who has done this enlighten me? TIA!

In theory that should work fine, but I would be hesitant about it; the risk of data errors while reading the CD could end up nuking your BIOS. Have you checked with your motherboard manufacturer for a Windows based flash utility? ASUS uses them now for example, and they work very well. No need to boot to DOS at all. They can even check online for updated BIOS versions.

Of course if your computer is working properly you should never flash the BIOS. Only do this to fix problems or add new features that you require.

Heck, even MSI motherboards you can flash the BIOS through their LiveUpdate in your web browser. Now isn't that scarry..
