Hello all,
Due to many popular requests, I have implemented a five day edit window on follow ups. Simply click the edit text next to reply and you can edit the post.
Thanks,
Justin

Just showing an example...
This is edited in text
BTW, I'm sure this goes without saying, but only the person who made the posting may edit it.

I think this will be especially useful regarding OPs who add info, thereby giving the impression the question already has been replied to, unless you open the post.
Nice move

Hello,
Yeah, I mean, I could go and do it retroactively, but, in five days, all the posts that can allow the editing will have the feature.

Justin:
Kudos! More than once, I've proof-read my posting, checked it again before the final confirmation, posted. . . And still found that I'd left something out. :)

Justin -
I guess it's best to set the effective date the same time you first announced the feature. BTW I hope every edited post will be automatically flagged with an annotation to this:
Last edited by XpUser on Fri 3/16/o07 10:42 am; edited 1 time in total
Otherwise we will never know if the post is original and the subsequent responses to it may suddenly appear to have nothing to do with it.

XpUser,
Lets see how it works without that. The main reason I put editing was for minor errors. I'm hopeful people don't completely change around the messages.

Ok but ...
I'm hopeful people don't completely change around the messages.
Inevitably I am afraid it will be the case.

Five days is way too much of an open Window IMO, furthermore & in almost all cases thread trackings are eclipsed in about 48 hours by presumably 95% of responders since threads are naturally not expected to still warrant input thereonafter, unless in those special cases where a peculiar reason deems it so.
The clamor for an edit button in all fairness & from my POV (don't know about others) has been for minor (mostly grammatical) corrections or at the very most a brief addendum. I would like to think that an hour is plenty enough for this or at a maximum - 24 hours.
Thanks again for implementing this Justin & look into that fine-tuning will ya ;-)
