Hello,
I would appreciate any help that anyone has to offer me. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this.
I am currently having issues with my firewire drive that i recently bought.
The drive works when there are no usb devices connected, but for some reason when there are usb devices connected to my laptop (sony vaio), the firewire drive disconnects and doesn't work.
The firewire drive is connected to the laptop via PCMCIA IEEE card.
I need to be able to use my usb devices as well as the firewire drive, so any suggestions would be a great help for me.
Thanks again to anyone that's reading this.
Regards,
Doug

If you want that to happen get a powered USB Hub for your devices.
Looks like the chipset does not have enough juice for all those devices...
Goodluck

haha. I just fixed the problem right now!
I went on Sony's website and installed the BIOS update which addressed an issue with external usb drives on a pcmcia card. I have a firewire drive on a pcmcia card, but whatever that BIOS update did, it fixed my problem!
Hallelujah!!! :D
Amen.
