Zone Alarm free version is a good firewall. I used it for quite a while before I upgraded to the Pro version.

Jess,

Just a couple more, for you to look at. There are more than this, and everyone has an opinion, and possibly proof, as to which is better.

Sygate Personal Firewall

Kerio Personal Firewall

Good Luck,

I do not believe any of those firewall has the ability to block "referrer" info. I know for a fact that while Kerio is an excellent firewall it does not have the ability to block "referrer. I use the Kerio firewall. There are browsers that can do this however. Mozilla with the addon, "Preferences Toolbar" and possibly Opera and the new "MyIE2" browser.

I've found sygate's free personal firewall pretty effective. It and zone alarm seem to do well in tests

I agree with Lawrence....sygate is really good and free, and mine is in full stealth mode.

Blocking IE's "Referrer" header will give you problems on some websites. On the other hand, some ISPs "personal website" servers check it and refuse access if the referring URL contains "MP3", "download", "warez" or similar.

I think WebWasher will do it selectively though.
