I downloaded Win Mx onto my new computer but the problem is that it will not connect. My internet connection is fine because everything else connects and works fine. It's not Win Mx either because I downloaded Lime Wire and it would not connect either. I think it may be my firewall except that I have Win Mx checked off as an exception and I even tried turning the firewall off but it still would not connect. Can anybody help me? Please!

find out which ports it requires (from the options) and enable the ports in your firewall

I went to settings and found out it requires Port 6699 so I went to my firewall settings, went to add port, and typed the number and checked TCP but it still will not connect?

I'm not sure if this is the fix fir your problem, but at this point it might be worth a try.

In WinMx settings, click "In/Out UDP Packets", and check-off the lower button where it says "unable to send or recieve UDP datagrams...... ..."

I think you set the "In coming TCP Connections" correctly when you selected port 6699. (the top button, of the two choices.)

I am certainly not too familiar with settings, but you might try these settings out and see if it helps you out.
If no luck, there is an excellent WinMX troubleshoot forum available... google search for... Smittys Tavern WinMX Forum.

Lots of helpful info there regarding proper connections/port settings. Hope this helps you out a bit; good luck!
