Hi there,

I am running Firefox version 3.0.5 on Windows XP Home Service Pack 3. When I attempt to access websites sometimes (eg. www.torrentz.com) Firefox will only load a blank page with no error messages. Other times they will load fine. I have tried restarting firefox and my computer, both sometimes will work, but sometimes they won't. I can load the websites just fine in IE 7, Safari for Windows, and Opera. I am not running through a proxy and have Zonealarm firewall. Avast! is my antivirus and I am on a wireless network with d-link xtreme N router and wireless card. The weirdest part is that it only sometimes doesn't load, while other times it will.

This whole problem seems to have started after upgrading from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3.

This problem is VERY annoying and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ahead,
Bob

Have you cleared the Firefox cache to see if it helps?

If you use a third party utility to clear the cache, ensure that Firefox is not running while doing so or just stop it.

Thanks for the quick reply.....unfortunately no luck. I tried clearing the cache from within firefox and that didn't do it. I also tried flushing my dns, and the same result; a blank page with no error messages.

I did find something interesting though. I have the IE Tab add-on and when I load the site using that it loads just fine, but in a firefox tab (in the exact same window as the IE one) the site won't load.

Create a new Firefox profile and see if the problem persists in it:

Same result as before, the same blank screen even in the new profile. I didn't delete my old profile when I did that as I don't want to lose all my settings and add-ons, so I don't know whether that would make a difference though...
