Okay, I've used firefox for a long time, and it used to be perfect. I had my accounts set up, and all my bookmarks. It was GREAT.

But recently, there have been issues. For one thing, none of the browser plugins work. Like, for example, when I went to view a quicktime video online, it would simply open in a new browser window, but not in the actual player. Now it asks me to download the file and it wants to open it with windows media player.

I messed around with the file associations, and associated mp3's with quicktime, and in the settings I enabled the browser plugin auto-play thing. I looked through all the firefox download settings and other things, but none of them seemed to fix it.

Any ideas?

What version?? There was a problem involving extensions reported with the recent v1.05 - supposedly corrected in the 1.06 release

Computers in the future may have only 1,000 vacuum tubes and perhaps only weigh 1 1/2 tons.

I tried updating it, but it didn't work. I even changed the MIME things and file types, but still nothing.

This is really starting to bug me...

you could maybe try a system restore to back when it was working like you want it to.

You can't auto update to 1.06, you have to uninstall your old version then reinstall the new version.

I just had a problem too where my Excite Home Page was all messed up and Mapquest site I use all the time was all weirded out..I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and forget it!
So I uninstalled, did a search and removed all Mozilla folders, killed the prefetch folder in Windows, and did a find for every Mozilla everywhere in the rgeistry rebooted and redownloaded 1.06 and all is well.
