Hi, well I restarted my computer after I installed a program...then, when it gets to the desktop, I get this FireDaemon error. I did a search and found it in C:/Windows/Prefetch and it's called FireDaemon.exe-1597807D.PF I just got the error 30 minutes ago but that file is in my computer since 2 days. Can anyone help me out please?
Is there going to be any problem if I delete it?

thanks

If you're certain it's just a prefetch file, feel free to delete it. Prefetch files are used during startup to make the boot quicker.

I routinely empty all the prefetch files from their folder once a month. The computer rebuilds the files as needed. Old prefetch files can slow down your PC.

I deleted it but it doesn't work.
I even did a restore to like 6 hours before I got that error but it doesn't work either.

Keep the suggestions coming please

thanks,

Despite the fact that FireDaemon is not supposed to be a trojan, have you scanned for any?

If not, try the above link and see what, if anything, turns up.

FireDaemon.exe has probably been deleted but the registry 'run' entry has not been removed, thus the error on startup.

Download 'Hijack This!'. Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.
HijackThis!
