Hello
I just got back from overseas and I bought a new computer, however there is no operating system on it. So I used the XP disc from my toshiba laptop and installed it on there, althought I dont have my serial # on me. Can I find out my XP serial # on my old computer ?

I hope you are not going to use the XP Product key on Toshiba laptop on the new PC. If you are, it will not work because the EULA specifically prohibit it - unless you discard Toshiba.

Good thinking, ham! If you could find the 98 CD you could get the full installation of XP Home from an upgrade XP Home CD. Let me know and I will fill you in with the procedures.

Prohibition aside, it will work without much ado. Your conviction regarding the installation(s) is what motivates or stops you from activating both the laptop and desktop using the same Product Key.
As for me, if I had more than one PC (and I do) in my one household, I ain't going to buy more than one copy because I can't literally sit in front of both PCs at the same time.

Are you serious - even when M$ support for it has terminated this June or July?

Most likely nothing (it activates online as twice isn't really an abuse) or in the worst case, it tells you to call Mumbai to have a separate installation ID generated.
