I opened an attachment from Outlook Express, made some changes to the document, and saved it, but did not specify a location, so I think it saved to some weird file location. When I searched for the file location to retrieve the document again, it was within a folder in the Temporary Internet Files folder, but that folder seems to not exist.
This is an excel document, so I tried to expand the number of recent files that show up automatically in Office, but even though I set the recent folder to 8, 4 only show up. I tried to open the Microsoft recent documents folder manually, but that folder also seems to not exist (even when I have hidden folders showing). Is there a way to retrieve my document and the changes I made to it?

This should help.
And here's some more help.
I have NOT lost my mind — I have it backed up on tape somewhere

If you try saving it again it should offer you the same location so that way you might find it.
You could also do a search for *.xls and it should show up with the rest.
